Welcome to The Mulch Pit, a place for growing food and fun. The Mulch Pit is a permaculture community garden hosted by Nightcliff Uniting Church. We offer both container plots loved by locals growing their own and communal garden areas where everyone can join in our working bees and share the harvest. Use our map to find your way around!
Our community working bees are a great way to meet other gardeners, share information, get your hands dirty and enjoy each others sweaty company. For our latest activities and events, check out our blog or FaceBook page. If you're after a plot to grow your own, check out our Info & Sign-Up Section for our Guidelines and Membership forms.
Generally, we meet at these times.
FRIDAY FRIENDZI'S - Community working bees on the second and third Friday's each month from 5pm - featuring a speedy makeover or project with a specific focus, that benefits the communal garden areas.
'COMMUNITY CHEF' COOKING NIGHTS - The first Friday each month from 5pm we pick produce from the garden and turn it into a fresh feast. Find our recipes here.
'SATURDAY PLATTER DAY' - from 9.30am there's always something to do and someone to meet in the garden. Bring your excess produce for the Pit Produce Swap. Then stay for a fair trade coffee or tea at Frilly's!
'PERMIE PLANNING' MEETINGS - At 6pm on the third Friday each month- where Plotters and Schemers and Friends of TMP get to contribute ideas and make decisions.
If you can't join us at one of these times, check out the communication board for jobs you can do when it suits you!

she will provide in plentiful abundance food
for all her children if they will but cultivate her soil
in justice and in peace." Bourke Coekran
